quote

"The reality is that so-called pro-life movement is not about saving babies. It’s about punishing women for having sex. That’s why they oppose birth control. That’s why they want to ban abortion even though doing so will simply drive women to have dangerous back alley abortions. That’s why they want to penalize women who take public assistance and then dare to have sex, leaving an exemption for those who become pregnant from rape. It’s not about babies. If it were about babies, they would be making access to birth control widespread and free and creating a comprehensive social safety net so that no woman finds herself with a pregnancy she can’t afford. They would be raising money for research on why half of all zygotes fail to implant and working to prevent miscarriages. It’s not about babies. It’s about controlling women. It’s about making sure they have consequences for having unapproved sex."

This is put so brilliantly. Bravo.

That’s not what an embryo looks like at 28 days.
This is what it looks like at 28 days.
They should use this image for the poster, but they won’t because emotional manipulation and misinformation is what anti-choicers do best.

If their cause is so good, why do they need to use lies and manipulation to recruit people?

Arizona has passed a law which says pregnancy can begin two weeks before a child has been conceived, in another blow to reproductive rights in the US.

The law was signed in by Republican Governor Jan Brewer on Thursday, who said it would “safeguard our most vulnerable population–the unborn.”

Aside from banning all abortions after 20 weeks, defined from the date of the woman’s last period instead of conception except in the case of medical emergency, it will force women considering abortion because of fetal abnormalities to have counselling, and for women having an abortion to have an ultrasound.

It also says the age of a foetus is “is calculated from the first day of the last [woman’s] menstrual period.”

The Center for Reproductive Rights’ state advocacy counsel, Jordan Goldberg told the Daily Beast the new law “disregards women’s health” . “The women of Arizona can’t access medical treatment that other women can.”

Six other US states have put similar curbs on late-term abortions in the last two years.

Ridiculous. This whole law is absurd, I’m so glad I don’t live in Arizona. I think all women should pack up and leave in protest!

What. In. The. Heck.

This is one of the most disgusting videos I’ve seen in a while. Terry England, a Georgia Republican Lawmaker, compares women to farm animals, and claims that the Holy Bible is the ‘Owner’s Manual Of Life’…(does that even make sense?)

If it really broke your heart, Mr. England, to see a cow birth a dead calf and, in saying that, imply that you would be even more heartbroken to see a human baby born dead, then what if a woman is told the baby she’s carrying has died inside her? Or will definitely not make it to term or will die within moments of being born? Is it okay then to abort that dead child so the mother and father don’t have to suffer the same heartbreak you felt when seeing a dead calf or pig being born? Would you really be so cruel as to make a woman carry around a dead baby inside her and then give birth to it knowing that it didn’t survive? And what if a complicated pregnancy could threaten the mother’s life as well, if she carried it to term? Is it worth risking two lives just because you’re closed minded and think everyone should be following your religious guidelines?

All of his dramatic pauses and the way he draaaaaged out the speech was just an annoying way to add a false emotion to the whole ridiculous speech. I am pro-choice. However, whether you support abortion or not, NO ONE should be comparing women to farm animals. It’s immature, unjust, and discriminating.

Planned Parenthood does WAY more than abortions. In fact, abortions account for only about 3% of what they do. Mostly they provide health care for women like regular check ups and gyno appointments. They also help educate and provide birth control so people don’t have to be in a position to want to get an abortion in the first place. And if what these ladies are protesting about is more than abortion and they’re against the actual contraception itself well then I have news for them…humans are sexual creatures by nature, that is how we were created. We can’t all be like the Duggar family and have 20 kids…the earth is already bursting at the seams. So before you go protesting against your own rights girls, just think of the two life options you’re giving yourself by saying you’re against abortion/contracepion..1) a miserably sexless life, or 2) a miserable life raising a butt load of kids. OR you could NOT defund Planned Parenthood and enjoy a life of SAFE sex and choose when/how many kids you would want to have. Your choice. So be Pro-Choice.
